Snakegourd/ Podalangai/Podalakai/Padavalakai Poriyal/Dry Curry

Snake gourd - 2 medium( Or frozen 1 pack)
Onion - 1 small chopped
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Jeera powder - 1/2 tbsp
Mustard seeds- very few
Urad dhal- very few
Salt as needed
Oil - 1 tbsp

Clean and cut (by removing inner seeds) the snake gourd/podalankai to desired shapes like thick pieces,small bits or round.

Heat oil in a kadai and add mustard seeds and urad dhal.. when it splutters and chopped onions and fry well till transparent ...next add the vegetable and fry for 6 - 8 mts ... add salt and the powders... this vegetable cooks very fast... press and check if cooked or fry again for another 2 - 3 mts ... very simple and easy to prepare... serve as a side dish with rice and enjoy.
